Babou Joof has a long commitment to serving the children of the Gambia and working with the ministry of basic and secondary education.
After completing his Postgraduate degree from the University of the Gambia, majoring in physics and mathematics, Babou continued to teach and help students of the Gambia grow
During his tenure in MoBSE, he served in various leadership roles, including training students on science exhibitions and live events. Became a climate change activist and helped create awareness in hazards and disasters caused by impact change—helped invent a solar cooker purposely for cooking without using wood and charcoal.
Babou has a strong passion for providing struggling children the pre-requisite skills, research materials to help improve their education, and experiences that allowed him to work and learn alongside educators from around the country.
He is dedicated to supporting the instructional expertise of school leaders in their work to ensure that every student has access to the educational opportunities they need to thrive.
Babou enjoys his bowl of "Benachin" with his loving and caring family when he is not busy teaching students or playing volleyball.
